Surprise wingman Okuyama. A little drama but it seemed to be resolved pretty quickly (gee, almost like talking it out can prevent 50 chapters of drama). But I guess Marika wants even faster progress. Will this finally break Tooyama? I guess we'll see next chapter.

Thanks for the chapter.

And yes - definitely keep including honorifics and using the specific names the characters use. They aren't just arbitrary. At the very least, they indicate the degree of familiarity between characters, and sometimes, when used oddly or inappropriately, indicate personality quirks or conflicts or something else relevant to the story.

Broadly, I think that translators fail whenever they eliminate honorifics, since it eliminates an important aspect of Japanese culture and a common story-telling device, so is an affront to both the author and Japanese society more broadly, and robs western readers of a potentially significant aspect of the story.

Okumura's a bro. RIP Receptionist-kun having to watch a lewd gal and a normie treat his workplace like a love hotel.

Keep the honorifics as is. There's a few conventions that just don't translate into English.

An older person calling a younger female -kun
An older person calling a younger male -chan

I got annoyed at one chapter by Platinum Scans where they had a highschool age character call a classmate "Mister" to denote respect and to show she wants to be his servant.

Yeah, I'm glad the long stupid miscommunication part is skipped but at the same time that only happened because the manga adaptation is rushed, so I don't know what to think about that haha

I feel the same way, glad you share my perspective! I'll keep the naming and honorifics the way they are then.

Yeah I've seen some very strange attempts to translate honorifics into English hahah, I can get why it might seem a bit corny to Western audiences but I think they're best kept as they are.
