Because of the art?!??!I really want this series to br good because of the art but damn the webnovel is hot garbo. Even though I like hot garbo I still wanna pluck my eyes whenever I read that thing
Damn, son, did you see the last page?
Look, he's fat so he's going to be bigger in some areas--waist, chest, neck, limbs, and anywhere where fat cells accumulate--but it doesn't make his bones bigger, right?
Now check out his head...it's frickin' massive. It's as big as her whole upper torso, including her bosom. Getting fat does not make your skull expand.
And even worse, look at the hands. The artist was even nice enough to put their fists side-by-side so you can see how ridiculously huge his hands are. Fat people don't add hardly any weight on their fingers, but that's not the worst part. Look at the first bone on each of their pinky fingers. Hers is closest to the camera and his is farthest from the camera. Not only are all the bones in his pinkies three times longer than hers are, but because of perspective, it appears that each finger gets larger as they go from index finger to pinky finger. Just imagine what your hand would look like if all the fingers were larger than the next as they went across, with your pinky longer and thicker than your index finger. Pretty freaky, right?
The best part of the art is all the parts that are not humans and their clothing, and all of that is 3D models rendered out as sharp-edged line drawings. And if you notice carefully, almost all of the shading information from those 3D models is missing. Nothing casts any sort of shadow, aside from a perfunctory scribble underneath the characters' feet to keep them from looking like they are floating in space.
Maybe these are all artistic choices--going for a minimalistic style. Or maybe the artist knows they have insufficient technical skill and they are doing every trick they know to make it look intentional. Or maybe they are rushed, or lazy, or both. Impossible for us to know without asking them directly. But one thing's for sure. The art is in no way "good". It's passable enough that it doesn't distract you from the story, as long as you don't look at it too hard.
