Unfortunately for us yes
The whole novel was about the MC not wanting to change the main history in order to know the apocalyptic future... Now everything has changed, the 'bad guys' have gained much more power than they had in the game, while the good ones/players haven't risen enough to be able to win (partly because he stubbornly didn't powerlevel them).
Well that's a better story direction imo since his retarded notion of "staying in the background" act should bite him in the ass on the long term. He was even about to let that other player ran havoc on the school and only managed to oppose him due to others help.

Yes it is a strange change. The game is supposed to be aimed for both men and women, that there are no male final bosses in the school is a bit odd.

Although the fact that in this version, it's Temna who fixes the incident and not just ‘they fell asleep’ is much more believable in the middle of the competition.

About the WN.. yeah
After that huge cliffhanger, the writer probably wants to write the whole arc without any negative community input,it doesn't seem to be doing too badly in sales to give up at that point..
It's doing surprisingly well in sales, according to the mangaka on the last volume.

MC is weirdly averse to using violence against humans when he's living in a world where Nobles will deliberately kill commoner adventurers to protect their status. Yeah violence is not the solution to every problem but going "oh it didn't feel good to punch that one guy" so maybe I shouldn't punch people makes me not really want to root for the MC. Like I thought this guy wanted to protect his family but clearly not if he's not willing to even knock out some worthless scrubs that are getting in the way of his plan.

The Story society is basically too far gone to actually solve things totally peacefully. It's very likely that either you're going to be sending the most heinous of the nobles to the guillotine or wiping them out from behind the scenes.

I think it makes sense, it's true that he's in a violent world, but he came from a peaceful era of Japan.
You can't expect someome who never did anything violent to anyone suddenly became okay with killing people just because he went to another World, unless he was a psy, he'll likely have to kill at some point not because he wants to but because he won't have any other choice.
This reads montly like an Otome game, in this route the MC is passive and not having any ambitious goals so he's likely reacting to it but the more the time passes the more it's getting difficult to keep hiding his powerlevel and he will have to face the consequences of his actions sooner or later, that Ninja girl who caught him using fake will likely come back.

It's because of such nobles he doesn't want to flaunt his knowledge openly. And he is protecting Souta's family by training them (in novel he also trained parents by bridge trap).

Can you spoiler more on that topic? What is her ability and why she fallen in love with the 3rd player? Someone else spoilered that the 3rd guy failed to NTR the CHF of MC, but he managed to do so with Sera supposed MC waifu. Now you say she wasn't stolen cause she fallen in love with the other dude herself.

EDIT: I read the chapter - So I know her ability, but this makes me wonder something else. How she managed to fall on love with 3rd player when he is a playboy wanna-be going after girls? Maybe she "reads" the future of default characters they players entered into, so the fatso bad-guy MC is in would actually be sex harasser, and the guy 3rd player plays as is a good guy normally?

Yeah, she has foresight, BUT it's limited to original game's future. That's why she saw MC expelled for sexual harrassement and lost interest in him. That guy is original character, so he has no future she can see, therefore Sera mistook him for her destined person and messiah (her grandma propheted that)

Then when she see that mc doesn't do the sexual harassment, she should react in some way, or at least doubt her own abilities right ? Or does she lose interest in everything except her lover after ?

After losing the duel, Tsukishima gets fucked since he revealed his powers to the school's elite. Every faction is after him now thus there's no more bullying against the E Class now that everyone is focused on gaining access to Tsukishima's asshole.
Sera who thinks he's the hero, protects him and is using the Saintess Agency to shield him from harassment.

As for Tsukishima's game waifu, Kaoru, she rejects him the first time, during the duel in order to stop the fighting she makes an offer to join him and help him become a proper adventurer (someone close to her ideals) he rejects the offer (saying that hero of justice is for losers) and decides to use his mind control spell to turn her into his slave, Souta kicks his ass. Later Tsukishima asks her again to join him and offer a seat at the student council, she rejects the offer. And is now infatuated with the mysterious swordsman (thin Souta with Cloak and Mask) who won the duel against Tsukishima.

I stopped reading like right after Souta beat Tsukishima after he was trying to mind control the whole school council.
Tsukishima is still trying to pull some shit afterwards?

By this point he's already acknowledged that the moralities are different between worlds. I hold out hope for the novel because his inner monologue gives away how close he is to just killing his enemies to avoid the risk they pose.

One of the reasons Lisa gives for sending him to observe the top students was that they're still trying to decide if the story is following male or female protag, but either way he KNOWS that the story has already been altered since the duel and is becoming closer and closer to a bad end. Every plot point is:
  • MC won't change anything and doesn't think other players will either because being able to predict the story is the best power
  • Something completely out of left field happens (because other players don't care about changing the story) and he has to barely scrape by because he didn't prep

I really hope the next novel plot point involves Mad Dog's plan causing every major power to shit on Colors because otherwise the power imbalance has reached international levels of stupid. Really... EVERY country/clan will have to pay the gate toll to one clan in Japan for 3 years AND Japan is about to lose the secret of the Samurai class and be crippled (because of the same clan)? Japan, Holy Empire, and US should all be out for blood.

The Gate Toll is true, but Mad Dog's plan altered the course already. Holy Empire is supporting Colors/The Golden Orchid Clan and i believe Mad Dog's plan is to take over Japan.
