Have none of these writers ever played any RPG games before? A skill that lets you dodge anything for some mana is useless in combat? What kind of bullshit am i reading here

This doesn't seem awful but I definitely would have liked it if he used his evasion skill to beat things he shouldn't be able to if he were a regular adventurer, it would have felt more like working for his success rather than getting lucky. He also looks very young so it'd make sense for his physical abilities to get better as he aged too.

Check out my cool new video game system fantasy manga where the main character is born with the weakest skill of uhh... fuckin uhh... tripling damage on the next hit for a small MP cost. It's the weakest because you need to do a one second animation to cast it and the buff only lasts ten seconds. Nobody would use that skill but our intrepid hero is simply built different.
