I'm surprised the villagers haven't rebelled against that dumbass bastard of a village chief. The most they did was point farm implements at him but stopped at that. He's so much of a PoS he also beats his wife on top of cheating on her with a mistress. The poor woman was only arranged to marry him, so she's got really rotten luck. If I understood the scene correctly, his wife is among the refugees fleeing his act of running the village into the ground.

Ivy leaving that accursed village was one of the best decisions in life she's done, if she grew up there without somehow getting sold to slavery, she'd probably be arranged to marry some old dude at best (starless aside, she is pretty) or probably forced by her own parents to sell herself at worst once she grew into a young woman. There was no good future waiting for her there after her only ally Louver was murdered.

like what the people in the wagon has said, the people left are just the chief's people/clique and those who aren't, left already.

That bastard said he wanted to sell the MC.. into slavery! I would say let's test if the slime can eat a human now but I wouldn't want that trash to become a part of it. I hope the villagers give him what they were about to give him before he ran off.. eventually :pepehmm:

Leaving aside all that about the village chief, I don't understand what's with the people of the village.
They have been cultivating the same fruit for all their lives, yet they can't tell if the fruit can be harvested before turning bad without a fortune teller?

How did they even make a living before the fortune teller?

Damn trash bastard. If only he the one that died and not the fortune teller granny.

She probably knew that shitty trash village head gonna cost her her life, that why she prep and used her remaining life time toward mc to be able to become independent.
