For me it's exactly that she's a slow burner and what we have rn is her learning to be less of a blob, she's not really interesting. Which is usually done because FMC usually have a way longer period to expand as a character but considering were only volume 2 into the LN, Hinako at least for me is just cute girl with no real drive. There's nothing that makes me think anything but she's there. But to each their own. When Hinako gets her time. I'll think better of her as were so early in the story.

Doesn't each volume focus on a specific heroine? That just means this is Tennouji's story arc, which is why the FL isn't getting as much screentime / development.

True she has, But Tennouji only recently getting it is my point. Since this is a LN adptation and were only in volume 2 much more has to come, but I'm not talking now I'm talking the whole manga so far. I bet by the time we reach where the LN is rn she's 1000X times better. But as a manga reader she's not disgraced me or anything it's just what she is rn doesn't push me to feel much for her. Hence why I'll wait for her development but I'll still say how I feel. Mirei before this volume at least for me had me intrigued and all this arc so far has done has confirmed my intrigue.
