While it is true she doesn't have to save the weak because they aren't her friends, she was also an enabler for being in that party and not doing anything at all. She isn't uninvolved and free of blame. Had she really not cared she'd be off doing her own thing similar to MC instead of hanging around bad people. Also all those guys are preaching about equality but only want revenge by upturning the system and getting back at the strong instead of actually trying to fix the messed up system itself.

I swear I feel so confused on what is happening but at the same time, this is simple to understand when first reading it... although I am enjoying this still im just gonna reread this whole story to understand everything again, because idk what to think lmao.

i should feel sorry for him.. sure he was mistreated and almost tortured.. but he treated the others the same when he got the drugs. hard to feel sorry. i could feel sympathy for him if he didn't turn into a monster.
nah your are right to not feel sorry for him. in the end its just narcissisms. he is unsatisfied with his position/power comparison. be it talent luck or opportunity, he feels entitled to have them when he look at those who does have them.

and in the end he feels justified to act worst than the top. and consume the lowers in attempt to reach the top. and he is still in denial that he doesn't have the capability to wield more power.
that it wasnt simple bad luck that he wasn't born on the top.

Fuck the weak little guy, for thinking it was okay to grind up other people into mulch to grow that drug tree. The school breaks the spirit of the weak, then erases their memories and releases them out to live normal lives.
Oh yeah. That was a plot point. This arc was dragging for so long that I forgot about that. However, memories or not, the school is still gonna produce a lot of broken people.

Even the weakest of these "Heroes" are walking nukes, breaking their spirit and leaving them with a trauma that persists even after getting their memories wiped, just makes them the average meek background character you see in Japanese fiction. It's probably for the best, since we haven't actually gotten confirmation that their powers can be taken away.

Breaking their spirit won't stop them from going off if they get cornered irl by old associates (which I imagine happening to the more thuggish heros). So they either must take their powers or (the more likely option) simply kill them to tie up loose ends.

Man, right until the end, the guy only heard what he wanted to hear. She said "You're not me or my friend, you're a stranger." and he heard "You're weak so you're not worth my time."

She'd absolutely have helped them even if they were the weakest person on the planet if she considered them a friend. Maybe if he tried to listen to other people, he wouldn't have ended up like this.

The actions you take in those circumstances are what define your character. He likely with power from the get go would've played into the system just as much. He would need to have a broader view on things to be a game changer character. Ah well.

He should've been happier to get apathy honestly but that seems to have hurt him more than the overt bullying.
Yep, he has the "it's fine for me, but not for thee." mentality. It's justice when he does it, torture when it's done to him.

Nobody is allowed back to Earth, with their memories intact, so who is going to be targeting old grudges?

I have no idea, why manga never mention it, but in novel it was stated in very first volume, that any of them could return to their ordinary life if they wanted to, but at cost of their powers and memory would be sealed up by goddess.

I just briefly checked ch.39 in raws, and again they downplay Kyoya powers by literally billion times (
zero explanations that magic circles that Kyoya used are not only haxed asf but also each one of them packed with magic power enough to blow away entire continent
)
But even if they tried to erect a protective barrier, magic wouldn't function normally within the distorted area created by the Blight Trees. At this rate, their situation would steadily worsen.
So... it seems they'll have to apply some pressure.
"Orchestra"—"Tré," "Muspel," "Jörð," "Iárn," "Nifl". He quickly recited the incantation, and instantly, the magic of the five elements appeared around Kyoya.
Each of the five formulas, commanding its own element—wood (Tré), fire (Muspel), earth (Jörð), metal (Iárn), and water (Nifl)—carried within itself enough magical power to sweep away an entire continent. But this was only the preparation.
"Ceremony of the Five Elements: "Cycle of Mutual Generation."
Wood turns into fire, fire into earth, earth into metal, metal into water, and water into wood.
Kyoya circulated the five magics he had created at lightning speed. Giving life, killing, receiving life, dying—at the culmination, after an infinite number of attempts at mutual creation and mutual destruction, mutual suppression and mutual reinforcement, a cyclical circle equal to life is achieved.
Now wood was fire, fire was earth, earth was metal, metal was water, and water was wood. The five previously disparate magical forces ascended into individuality and into a single, distinct and unified magical force.
As a result, a formula was woven…
"Echo: "Andlung"."
Five circles unfolded to protect them both. This is the artificial Ultima—the magic of all elements, created by combining the magical systems of demons and Onmyodo. However, it is a counterfeit, created through brute force. An unstable formula containing violations of magical logic.
But it was used for a rather simple reason. It is guaranteed to function even in the Trees of Blight realm, where magical power mutates erratically. No matter which attribute mutates, being all-elemental, this formula will not fail. Although this is a semi-aggressive brute force tactic, it was extremely effective. The five defensive barriers repelled all attacking branches.

I just recommend to go and read novel. There are only 4 volumes and story roughly splits into two parts 1) up to end final chapters of volume 2 2) From ch.7 of volume 2 and to the end of story in the epilogue of vol.4. First part is "light" part there nothing really happen and it is mostly boring, while part two is "heavy", drama and lore-packed, Kyoya would have several decent opponents, great story development and decent end. Manga only covers up to 2/3 of ch.6 of Vol.2 of LN (with ch.39, which only exist on japanese for now) and just butcher almost all really good things, which first part of the story had.

manga did mention this in starting as far as I remember that students could always go back to normal life at the expense of memories and powers.
