Oh sure, the demon lord that killed everyone no stop suddendly kills no one and let them escape back.
The retreated heroes must have some bomb inside or one of them is the demon using a camouflage, even possible the author wanted to keep it light and only gave thme treatable wounds explaining how when everybody got knocked out it activated a artifact/spell for immediate teleport, would be damn cold though.

Bunch of flat jerk characters dying after downplaying the situation and flaunting their skill so the MC and his team (the main cast) can show off (maybe along with pushing credit on the local hero so they're "showing off" doesn't "stand out"). Super investing plot line. Even the stock nice apologizing "he's totally not that bad" guy was thrown in. Neat. Someone should really start a bingo card game for these power fantasy isekai or isekai like series.
