Technically it's not counterfeiting if he uses copy/paste to make money, but is still destabilizing the economy due to devaluation of money from more currency than backing existing. Counterfeiting is making a cheap imitation or knockoff of something, usually money. Let's say the counterfeiting is perfect and indistinguishable from the real thing or MC copy/pastes a lot of money. As a result the 1000 $1 bills backed by 1000 pounds of gold (making number up, don't know $/gold equivalency ratio,) making government set rate of one $1 bill equals 1 pound of gold is now ten $1 dollar bills equals 1 pound of gold due to there being 10000 bills circulating instead of 1000. So a loaf of bread equal to $1 now costs $10 due to inflation caused by too many bills backed by too little gold.

As for Trap Detection it's likely a result of noticing and identifying traps numerous times rather than getting caught in traps. Like being able to determine that a spot on the ground is a trigger for a trap due to it being slight discolored compared to rest of ground, slightly protruding or sinking into ground, can see outline of crack outlining trigger, trigger is to evenly flat compared to rest of lumpy ground, or various other things. In any case all this mayhem practice will be good for MC's development.

Common case of author just heaping OP powers onto an MC and not actually knowing how to write an OP MC.

Making them dumb doesn't balance powers, and powers shouldn't be balanced, not like that. Also, taking their powers away/crippling them every time a real enemy's around is stupid.

It's like how in Inuyasha, the monk with the black hole hand, whenever fighting a real threat would be useless, because of 'random poison insects' who flood the area suddenly and if he absorbs them he'll get poisoned and die. Black hole = useless, forever. Stupid.

How is it counterfeit money if it has the same gold content as the original? Counterfeiting fiat currency means trying to pass off unbacked currency as legitimate. Counterfeiting coinage made of noble metals involves replacing the valuable metal with base metals, this making it worth less than the perceived value.

If the duped coin is exactly like the original, down to the atomic level, how is it nor legitimate money?

@Raudhbjorn counterfeit money technically does not have to be "worth less" in terms of composition...but in 100% of (real life not isekai) cases it's not worth it for counterfeiters to use the same metal. The true definition of counterfeit money is currency produced outside the legal sanction of the government.

If you don't agree try this thought experiment: if the employees at the government printing press decided to "make an extra run" off the books to augment their salary, would they be off the hook since the bills are otherwise exactly identical, down to the metal threads and holograms, as the real deal?

And putting aside that the duplicated coin is worth the same in isolation since it has the exact same composition, the MC would have diluted the money supply and therefore undermined the government's authority as the only entity to be able to do so. Off to the gallows!

Honestly I don't feel like he's becoming dumber, its more like he's starting to understand less and less of what's going on around him. Such as his powers and why they are losing their ability, but I mean nobody would be able to guess it on the spot especially him since he's starting to lose some understanding of stuff it seems. But its just my opinion
