While I understand this is relatively free for everyone to read, what is the point of releasing these fragmented chapters? I'd understand if they had cleanly cut cliffhangers but cutting it mid-conversation is truly half-assed.

It isn't the group who is doing it actually. It is the JP publisher who for some reason thinks this is a good idea...

Snaping at him isn't the wisest move to do. (This can backfire so badly.) But I feel MC. I like it.

It isn't that risky imo. While the prince is above him in standing they aren't really that far apart since the Prince's country is a vassal to MC's empire, he is the son of a high ranking noble and he is there on official business.

A publishing house wouldn't release a cut up chapter for sell cause the backlash and lost of sells would be far greater than any revenue gained from this. The artist definitely wouldn't do it, specially as a professional. Since both the artist and author make money through sells, neither would be on board with this decision.
But a raw provider or translation team? They'll do it both for increase revenue and trolling potential.

I stand corrected, this publishing house is a piece of shit but geniuses. They splitting it to generate ad revenue and tempt readers into just breaking down and buying the full chapter. Either way rather you wait and give them money through ads or give them money directly they win. I can only cringe at the thought of how much the artist/author actually get out of this deal...

Nowadays a lot of manga's new chapter are posted for free online(by the author/publisher themself) for a limited time, which then being locked behind paywall which you have to spend the site's currency if you want to read the past chapters. Of course not every title are being cut, but quite a number of them do. You don't have to take my word for it and go to the publisher site sometimes to see it for yourself.

In addition, the blackbox you would see from some title is the for the same reason, the fact that it being posted online. Trust me, no raw provider/translator are willing to do that shit, because it would have more cons than pros for the effort that they would do. Already did, made the edit probably while you were typing this. This was new to me, but hey it's free so they gotta get their money somehow. But no, I've known more than a few raw providers (unofficial) in the past that did add in black boxes to otherwise uncensored works while putting the unedited raw behind a paywall. Granted that was before publisher got in on it.

Also knew not a lot but a small few translators who purposely used censored raws when an uncensored raw was readily available. Hell, it started a sniping war (own words, exaggeration) back on old mangadex and some aggressor sites (fun times, tbh).

@IlsaTilsaKilsaMilsa , @Versa , @Forikorder : Okay, okay, okay, I see the error in my ways. Of course resisting is way better, than being arrested. Also I forgot for a moment, that MC is a diplomatic onlooker onto the situation and not a direct subject of that prince. The only excuse that is left for me is that MC might cause a diplomatic issue with those words. This might become troublesome for him, IF some of his superiors decide to stir the matter up in an unfavorable way for him. But then again the exact opposide might occure and bite him in the arse, if he would keep his mouth shut and let the dragon be attacked. So, yeah it is better to scold that horny brat. (And of course it might be also way better for that prince's subjects, too.)
