Unfortunate that we spent so much time of this chapter stating what the combat scenario is really like, and that it took Cross until the end of the chapter to say what every single reader would have figured out halfway through. At least having to fight off the horde of monsters made it reasonable that he wouldn't immediately prioritize appropriately.

Not to mention that it potentially gives away weaknesses, or workarounds. If the monsters are hidden in the shadow, what happens if something causes the shadow to completely disappear for a second? Do they pop out, or do they all die instantly? If she hadn't blabbed, and getting rid of the shadow does kill them all instantly, a large portion of the blame goes to her blabbing about her masterful counter.
