Also, thats not the problem here. I have more problem with how easily manipulated he is. We literally don't know any of these questionable characters acting all mysterious and yet he is like, whatever. For real, its jst 2 chapters in and he jst got gutted verbally like that. Might reconsider staying if future chapters are looking good, but for now my expectation just went from 100 to 0 real quick.

@PrivatePublic it's also worth remembering that she more or less said if he worked for the SC with her, she'd put him under a bit of protection by her family, which is a family stronger than his thus they wouldn't be able to do anything to him when he finally does leave his family, not without incurring her family's wrath (not sure either of them get the ramifications of such a declaration, but as he said it's the best chance he has at escaping his family without bloodshed).

@FgoSegul How do you envision that? Even if he had the stomach to kill his parents or his brother, that'd be a crime making him lawless and hunted by all (state bounty on his head kind), supported by the new head of the territory (since he might still have some vague legal claim to it that someone else could abuse later, c.f. Lex Crusader Kings).

And if he doesn't go all out killing them, they probably won't send any troops after him either, but they will be financing troubles for him until he's moved so far away that everyone thinks he's dead. (Can't rent an apartment because they pull in favor with the landlords boss, can't get a job other than a mercenary.. it's nothing that would kill him, but it's the kind of pesky annoyances he didn't want.

@OddOwl It's mostly extortion, but his OP ain't more than that of a gunslinger. So like Doc Holiday he realizes that if he doesn't go with the law, he'll get set up against it. And he can't shoot himself out of an expulsion. (It's more like, if he tries to kill the student council, that'll only make his expulsion all the faster, and probably end up with jailtime).

@FgoSegul Ain't no self-defense when a younger child in nobility kills their elder. Laws abound against that so people won't "speed up" their inheritance..
And yea, he could move away, but then he'd have to learn new languages, new cultures.. because it can't be something so close that they have strong trading connections. (Unless it's some kind of anarchist nation, in which case we're back at the point where he has to fight a lot just to get a safe spot - or it's wilderness in which case he has to work a lot to get even a few luxuries, else it's cabin in the woods and eating what he can hunt and kill).

I'm not saying he can't do it, but it'd be a large step up in the strength of the conflict (right now he's merely being harassed, and at the moment not even strongly. Might be that the councillor was the lying one.) And it'd be a lot more work than just walking around at school, shooting bad guys and getting allies from other families. Even if he dislikes both options, one is clearly more supportive of "a chill life" than the other.. XD

While we aren’t provided information to imply such there’s also a chance this is one of those “universal language” series where asides from different species or isolated groups everyone speaks the same language
