She has also kidnapped him several times, forced him to fight monsters near the edge of his ability and likely lied to him on several occasions.

That's not to say she hasn't been helpful, only that her methods are deceptive and often violent.

Noemi OTOH might also be trying to use him, but her approach comes from the other opposite extreme. Passive, harmless appearing, and overly friendy.

I have always been a big proponent of hearing both sides out, and would like to at least have the illusion of making my own informed choices. At the moment neither side is really being all that forthcoming with info, but Elllen has so far forced the MC to follow her lead rather then letting him do so of his own free will.

From the others' reaction before we know that demons can't really walk around freely there and her forceful approach has saved both Takashi's life, as well as several others' (Noemi among them), because every time Ellen has given him the tools he needed to overcome the trial.

The best thing Noemi has done for him was getting both of them out of a situation Takashi had probably only been in because of her, ever since has been pestering him to escort her back home and will then undoubtedly drag him into the fight with the princess/royalty. Even here Noemi immediately cast her magic to at least restrain Ellen, while she was just standing there with no signs of hostility.
Have they both lied to him (at least by omission)? Sure and I'd hear them out, but first I'd make Noemi chill down, with as much force as needed.

I'm with team Demon. I don't like how they have been discriminated against, and Ellen has been helpful. The term "evil" never really struck me as having place outside of dogmatic religious scriptures anyways.
