it was...decent, I guess. The whole Wanted / Epilogue Arc didn't really feel all that satisfying until Sanda had that realization, but I suppose that was the point of that slow burn of him going through a depressive Adulthood and realizing what being an adult really means in a rather melancholic way.

Poetic, in a sense. We could've done more with the whole Holiday Guardians thing but eh, 'twas fun while it lasted.

A lot shorter than Beastars tho.

Well with the end of the series and putting everything into perspective, I didn't really like it.

Sanda feels like the worst parts of late Beastars in one manga. It grabs you with this weird intriguing premise that ultimately delivers nothing, character's motivations and their actions often aren't explained well, the whole last arc of the school's principal felt like nonsense. Arcs are started and ended without proper payoff and the story meanders around without focus.

Her two new works from what I have seen seem to suffer from the same problem. You can see when she ran out of ideas because the amount of fights increased (also happened at the end of Beastars). I think I will need to accept that early Beastars and the Beast Complex series isn't something she is able to output frequently anymore.

'I already did it' WITH WHO?!

What a weird ending. Not quite as much of a disaster as Beastars but still.

Thanks for translating it to the end.

I didn’t like it; I couldn’t connect with any character or get involved with the plot at all. I feel that Paru has a “gardener” writing style: she plants a bush and prunes and adjusts it as it grows along the way, and sometimes it turns out great, like in beast complex, bota bota, and the early parts of beastars, but most of the time that bush doesn’t grow enough to make the most of it.

Thanks for all your hard work on this series! Like Beastars, the ending went in a lot of crazy directions that will leave almost no one totally satisfied, but hopefully with also enough poetically poignant moments thrown in that some folks will be pleased. I personally really liked that it ended with the reestablishment of proper Santa activities.

Welp, now all that's left is to enjoy the story again by watching the anime, which is actually still ongoing as of writing this, btw. Go watch it.

Thank you scanlation team o7

It's a very Itagaki "life goes on" ending, I don't mind it, I don't really expect her to tie up all the loose threads because that's her style.
Sanda spent his late teens and early twenties in a haze of regret and bitterness; it be like that sometimes. I do just wish we got to spend some time with depressed adult Sanda, nevertheless.

I kinda got lost at the ending, what made sanda leave the academy leaving all his friends behind and 5 years later he is still doing santa's job but he hates it and wants to die as well?

still a really good manga, thanks for the translation and I hope for the best for Paru!
