After reading all chapters over the past few days, I must say I‘m disappointed. The pacing is so weird, the „mystery“ of Ono’s disappearance was solved just like that, and we still don‘t know why exactly being an adult is so bad and why Santa Claus is supposed to be so important.
Sure, those questions will get answered later, but… we are already at chapter 30 and without knowing basic things about this world, it‘s very hard to feel invested. And the two-dimensional and boring characters aren‘t helping either.

A very hard fall from the masterpiece that was Beastars.
Even the artwork was better, with all the small details and little stories in the background. Now, in Sanda, there‘s just… nothing really to discover and enjoy.

I think you have a point, looks like this manga is more about the character's struggle and contemplation than about worldbuilding.
