This manga never fails to come up with a curveball. There we are in the claustrophobic world of that intellectual ****** plotting murder, and suddenly some rando comes along and turns the mood upside down.

Oh boy, an action scene! I love how even in this manga about treasuring the unique perspectives of the elderly and supporting them to still achieve new dreams in their twilight years, we still occasionally meet a geezer who's just a total asshole lol. I loved the scene where they discuss how Sano-san ended up being a bit of a disappointment in the literary world, it reminds me a lot of a similar scene in the excellent movie The Great Beauty.
