I just pray this story does not end out with them being together and him being some sorta cuck in the end
The reason i feel maybe, just maybe that wont happen is its already kind of happening and the story would be really weird and nearing conclusion. Chapter 61 gives me some hope. its was a turning point and by introducing this new girl gives a chance for author to really sync this up in a good way. and "happy ending" he promised. Granted we have really gone off the rails into the deep end.......

Did Haguhagu made a r18 ver. of chapter 59?
Does he make an r18 ver of the specific chapters like the other authors do?
Dunno if you've been paying any attention to this whole comment page, but the author has a whole slew of R18 stuff for both the MC (Mostly Sasha). That's actually kinda what a lot of people (Both here and in Japan apparently) are so mad about. For a lot of us it feels like a bait and switch on the author's part. They wrote the first volume as a wholesome ecchi comedy with Sasha saying things about wanting to do things. But then it changed to she's already done many of them and the author seems to just be retconning a lot of things that were said early on.

Someone please do correct me if I'm wrong on this, but didn't the the author get in trouble to some extent for this? Wasn't there a whole thing with the publishers that happened where the author had to explain that it wasn't IDENTICAL to the R18 Sasha stuff, and that this would be different entirely, only to release the chapters that revealed that it IS the same Sasha, just "Some of the R18 stuff didn't happen to her"? The author seems to be playing fast and loose with what is and isn't cannon to this series, and though I'm sure plenty of people are enjoying it, I'm more than a little on the fence about it.

On one hand, I want to believe that this will actually have a "happy ending" that the author is promising. I've been reading it on and off in hopes of that. But on the other hand, having seen some of the authors other work with Sasha, and even seeing some of the author's other work without her but commenting on how much he loves to draw her in such situations (Among other kinda creepy things to say about a character that is so young), I'm waiting for the next major bait and switch the author does that just makes this whole thing into one big NTR story and pisses off the publishers (Either again or for real).

Also, really not a fan of the bait and switch first volumes... I was down for some wholesome ecchi comedy, not what we got...

Hagu, the author, has been very consistent in telling readers that manga Sasha is the exact same character as the doujins. She's done everything you've seen her do, and will continue to do so until he decides otherwise(he won't).

The ONLY difference between the doujins and the manga is that in the manga, Sasha never met, and dated Futoshi-kun(the fat otaku from the doujins).

There is some debate over whether he ever actually intended to make a more wholesome manga or not. It does seem like it started out like that given the rapid tone shift that happened. It's a pointless debate at this point however.

Also... I'M BACK MOTHERFUCKERS! At least a bit. Can't delete MangaDex accounts, so I thought I'd pop my head back in.

Guys, don’t be fooled — this isn’t the wholesome romcom it pretends to be.
t starts off like a weird but nicely drawn romcom, with some playful teasing, kind of like Nagatoro, but turns into a deeply disturbing NTR that completely wrecks your psyche. It would already be awful if the creator just used the same character for these twisted stories — but the fact that most of the doujins are actually canon makes it even worse. The guy is seriously messed up.
If you’re into cute romance and playful teasing, do yourself a favor and stay far away from this series. It’s not what it pretends to be, and it’ll only leave you feeling sick.

someone please tell me! the doujin is not canon/connected with this manga
Look, I didn't go too deeply so as not to mess with my sanity, but apparently the author wanted to make it clear that it's the same character, from what he implies, yes everything is canon

Apparently, in some chapters, there are some really weird things, and it heavily suggests that she does stuff with other guys, while the protagonist likes it but is also suffering at the same time

-In chapter 65, it’s made very clear that her getting involved with the guys from the doujin, or at least some of them, actually happened.
-In a later chapter (chapter 71, which I don't think has been translated yet), an older guy — either the protagonist's brother or friend (probably the brother) — does that thing with both of them together... yeah, that, and was and it was 100% her idea
-And in the latest translated chapter (66), she seems to be showing him a video of her doing it with someone else...

Long story short, man, just give up on this series — the worst parts haven't even shown up yet.

This manga came up again so I decided to read the latest chapter.

Seems like the author decided to make her a junior idol and seems like the president is still in the picture. What's crazy is she is confirmed doing it for love of the game.

I don't care about this manga one way or the other. I am just trying to understand the logistics of making a manga that is this infamous and unpopular when you could just make ero. I would get it if you wanted to make a different story, but this just seems insane. Based on the sales and general response, this cannot be what's putting food on the table.

I definitely remember there being several different tweets on his twitter (Before that got shut down... For some reason... >>), where he just outright stated it was the same character but that none of the Doujin were cannon, only to later go back on that and say they were partially cannon, but not all of it. Now it's looking more and more like that was also a lie?

I'm also pretty sure there was a few instances of Hagu actively having to make a tweet about how he was changing the story and that it wasn't going to be the same cannon as the doujins because the editor got pissed about it, only to later flip it around and say "Ha! Gotcha, it's the same!" (Obviously not like that of course)?

Yeah, one can argue "It's not the same because she never met this one character from the doujins!" and they'd be technically correct, but that isn't the part that has so many people up in arms about this series, both online here, and actively in Japan. The part that people are so pissed about is the blatant bait and switch of the early volumes, coupled with the just straight lies early on in release. Sure, he may have been open about it being the same Sasha from the get go, but he definitely said the doujin weren't cannon in the early stages of release, only to just outright change that later.

If I'm completely honest, the only way Hagu could win anyone over at this point would be to just have the MMC wake up from that dream in the end of Volume 2 (3?) where he saw Sasha with that one guy at night, and say that everything in the series from that point to now has been the MC's wild fantasies running amok in his dream, and that the doujin aren't cannon to the manga. But even that probably wouldn't work for many people and would likely make people even more pissed...

Really it's all just a lose/lose for Hagu at this point in my book. I can't really see this working out for him in the long run...

id wager that this entire manga is sortof a game the author lost. from what people have said the series comes out the gate in a way that implies something different that what the characters have normally done and one of two things could be the case.
  • The author genuinely attempted to make something different but in some way failed to keep that up so defaulted to a lighter version of the normal duojins starring this character
  • The author intentionally fooled readers because it would get NTR haters/non NTR fans or even NTR fans that got tired of his work to pick it up

either way, this is what the author likes to do, prefers to do, and i doubt there's any notable monetary price for noes diving the manga. the Doujins are still there and can still sell and the author may have some alternate source of income. not to mention the number of people who bought it could already satisfy any monetary need for the manga and if people are upset they simply wont buy manga from this guy... which isnt what he normally does anyway

it's like if a women's erotic-romance writer suddenly released a long-form sci-fi adventure series and 1/2~1 books in it turns into more women courting all the monsters like the author is known for but turned from an 11 to like an 8.5

The editor/publisher needs to rein him in, he's going too crazy now. There's no way this going to have a good ending. Romance tag is a lie.

Imagine if Nagatoro went in the same direction, and even that mangaka does hentai. This is probably also why publishers don't usually let authors makes lewds/hentai for the characters from serialized series. Some get away with but most don't

Listen man, this is just the "sfw" side of the doujins now. It won't ever be anything else. No one's forcing you to read it.

That's absolutely what's going to happen and why I dropped. The writing entirely changes before and after Chapter 30 (the retcon). It goes from "story of a young boy trying to claim a girl as his own" to "shota learning to become a cuck". It's a totally new character arc that the writer is telling is us a good thing.

Oh god. Is this like the manga equivalent of Scottish cuisine - formulated on a series of escalating dares and based on furtherance of human misery? I read a few chapters and has the same reaction of biting into an apple and finding half a centipede…

Look, guys.
This manga isn't for everyone. The main target for this manga is NTR loving cucks.
If you thought this was gonna be a happy 1:1 romance manga with fidelity and all that shit, you've done yourself a real blunder of keep reading it after the reveal.
Also poor senpai, he's getting his 3p...as the third wheel.
