Strangely in japan is normal wave at the waiter and even call them loudly with polite manner to get service, while in usa you need to make some sort of telepathic connection to them because it's rude to wave or call them loudly there

for me if the bus driver sees someone running after the bus they usually stop and let them on
but if you don't get their attention or they're an asshole then tough luck kid
