In relation to the note at the end: Winston Churchill did indeed have a B24 and a York converted for personal use, hence the British called the planes a Churchill. B24 was nicknamed Commando and Churchill only used it twice. After that he switched to the York plane which was called "Ascelon" and not only outfitted as a flying office, it also had a pressurized cabin for one person (called the Egg). Commando would be used to ferry high ranking officials later.
