Even her own dragon think she's going to eat it.

Troll king.

And he immediately steals her as the Dragon Knight's Head Chef.

Why are they so out of it?

"Sounds like a cooking problem."
She's really saying it's a skill issue?

"For non-drinkers..."
Does that matter if the alcohol evaporates? To my understanding, it usually completely evaporates so there's none left.

She's such a goblin. Which is one reason the manga is so fun.

haven't seen the raws, but perhaps would be better understood/translated at "a cooking technique issue" rather than just skill or cooking alone. (eta- its prob ok in its original or as skill, depends on how specific it wants to be)

yea, alcohol bit was a bit odd too- technically, not all alcohol cooks off when in solution with other liquids, but it would be trace amounts at best. Unless she chose to add the consomme earlier before it fully cooked off, which would possibly explain why there was some leftover- but for it to make a grown adult feel "warm" from a few bites, either super lightweight/sensitive or she put in way more.

somewhere along the line I just accept that people of this world is magically cursed with the ability to not know how to cook unless someone teaches them first.

And this manga isn't nearly as bad as in some others. I've seen a few where they can't make a steak taste anything other than garbage. I mean, how do you even succeed at that, outside making charcoal of it?

From what I see, they mostly just having hard time with seasoning and which stuff that can become ingredients like medieval era. The sugar is luxurious item, trade route for spice trading probably aren't frequent due to monster attack. Rina can do it mostly due to her appraisal skill and cuisine knowledge of our world.

Medieval people, especially high-status people like the characters here, would have access to plenty of seasoning. It's not quite as bad as in some other mangas, but I've yet to see a single manga where characters are even close to the level of cooking real medieval people were at.
