probably the same person that applied magic to Salome's knight got the count first and rewrote or made him say he was the culprit

Even if he did it, he was definitely doing it under strong influence of something else.
Now it's probably gonna be another thing that the protagonist need to find out.

Mystery antagonist moving real fast. Scapegoating both the count son and her Knight by making the brainwashing seem like it was a personal vendetta. I wonder how they solve this while keeping in the dark their real intentions of finding the mastermind, it feels like the antagonist definitely knows who they are and what they're trying to do at this point, but i feel like if they go public whoever is the real mastermind can easily go into hiding and target them more personally.

Their position as semi-public figures has me worried for who the next target becomes. If it's destabilization for that family specifically then the others are safe. But if it's maneuvering to get someone specifically in the seats of power, whoever is too useful on the protagonists side are for sure going to be hunted.

It's an obvious setup since its too easy but someone having mind control powers is very worrying.

There are only two suspects I can think of:

  • Salome herself.
  • The current owners of the tool that fell on Salome, her father was it?

Although a question comes to mind, why only 3 people? From a wide range of affected males in a long period of time, why only 3 remain obsessed If her power is that intense? Convenient tools?

Nah, I don't believe it. There's something more here. There always is.

I guess Natsu Hyuuga has a thing for writing heroines with shitty dads
Shitty, but somewhat competent fathers. Methinks our author may have grown up with a father like that, haha.

The other heroine's father is not actually a bad person. He didn't even know that the woman was pregnant, and no one forwarded any of the letters he received while he was essentially banished to the outskirts.
