I think we were actually shown the bit where he managed to create it (he was doing experiments, and some sort of stone appeared in the flask), although I'm pretty sure we only learned what it was in this chapter.Sheesh, I like a good "overpowered' story every once in awhile but the guy just whipping out a philosopher's stone that he made off screen is a bit much. That and, as the other said, it's been so long that I had to give it a quick re-read to remember what this was even about.
