Then again applying modem knowledge to most magic systems really breaks things quickly. Giving someone with a different view the ability to write their own magic would really upset the traditional balance.

This series is going to be a slow burn, FYI. The manga is making some changes here and there, but it's following the LN fairly consistently.
They are taking some liberties to try and up the humor for some reason though. Most of the LN early on, Grimm is basically solo also.

It won't be long until MC creates a rifling system for the bullet magic he created. Add another magic for autonomous firing and continuous bullet making and boom MC got himself a gun but without the gun itself.

I am quite liking the rhythm it's not too fast, nor too slow. My only gripe is the dumb monster/ability naming sense the author has (LN one, of course). Feels extremely gamey or whatever, which is kind of understandable, but also overused to the extreme, and in this type of setting they had the opportunity to name things differently (plus with MC able to create abilities, seems like a perfect fit to think a bit more?)
Besides this, iirc, watermarks are forbidden as per MangaDex's rules, has this changed in some way? because that purple splotch on the page is quite noticeable and annoying.
