think of it like your childhood dream that you always wanna get, no matter the reasoning, it's always the same path of wanting to go there.
a devoted car guy could had a very godly motorbike, but he would not be happy and then starting from there he would build up the effort to get his dream car, even if the path require him to sell the godly motorbike to get the car.
you can't reason to him why he should not ditch his godly motorbike and be grateful about it, he would rather ditch anything he could ditch (reasonably, hopefully) to get to his dream car.
i, for one, am a fan of firearm, even if it is inoperable, it is still cool to look at, no matter the age i am. my dad had this hasegawa military miniature of modern combat vehicle but i still like my 3d hnk or keltec digital firearm in my somewhat realistically depicted firearm game.
