For anyone curios about what happened to his parents as well as the next couple chapters
his mother was raped and killed in front of his eyes and the guy that did it told MC that after he grew up to come and try to take his life just because it isn't as entertaining to kill a child. So yea he doesn't stay very long and ends up leaving to go back to the kingdom to find his mother killer and the king and queen try to send their soldiers with him, but MC travels faster alone due to his spirit magic. Also I can't remember if it was WN or LN, but one of them I believe implied that the guy that killed his mother also is the one behind his fathers death.
Also just to add a little bit more insult to it the guy that killed MC's mom was someone that they considered a friend and helped them before he turned on them and was the one that personally threw MC in the slums while he was unconscious and when MC tried to go back to his house someone already took ownership of it and kicked him to the side.

Which girl?
The princess, teacher or the loli but now the same age fox girl who was reincarnated with the mc, or the other girl reincarnated with the mc I don't think we've seen yet?

So Zen and Ayame basically got exiled as an excuse for the "murder" of the prince's attendant... supposedly to avoid a war... that happens anyway.
Feels like a weak excuse for the MC to be a royal whose parents died pitifully far from their kingdom and in poverty.

Would have made more sense to have an actual elopement, have them lose the war or avoid the war altogether. Making them fight and win this war proved that all these efforts to avoid it were unwarranted. After all this, they could have just sent a messenger to tell them: "ok, you can come back: your exile is pointless now." As another commenter said above, they could have easily revealed that the "murder" was indeed a setup from the losing kingdom. Instead, they kept them banned for life, losing a great warrior and a princess in one move. And they only "forgive" them posthumously - and probably unofficially - when their OP child comes back.

Seriously, I kind of enjoy this manga, but I'll try my best to forget this chapter completely.

so the mc's maternal grandfather was a simp that couldn't see the difference between bending, bowing or groveling

a king or emperor may bend or bow but not grovel because loosing the respect of his vassals is a sure way to start a civil war
and oh boy selling your family and loyal servants would loose you my respect in a jiffy

and hello the private attendant of a prince from an enemy nation tried to abduct the princess while they visited the capital for peace negotiations... how did the prince even evade responsibility nvm turning into the accuser? and in the literal dragons den no less
should have just turned on the propaganda and watch how the prince scurries back to his father with an army on his heels invade a couple of forts and then start negotiations again

"Lucius, brutally murdered by son of a woman that he killed ten years ago."

It feels weird to be getting this backstory after so long. The revenge aspect was declared but never defined until now, although it was referenced earlier.
