That's no solution. Whether he stops providing or not does not matter when their interest in him lies with what he's capable of, not what he gets them now. This very chapter illustrated it - there's even more precious loot further down in the dungeon that no one can get to and he seems like he might. That goes for the merchants, the nobles and the army might simply prefer him as a soldier. Also, whether they are able to force him to do anything is irrelevant, they'll try anyway, which is what he wants to avoid.

Probably not "exactly in that spot", but close enough. It grows only in labyrinth, that described as a different world entirely, probably even air itself filled with unique mana, together with earth condition.
It's highly unlikely that "magical medicine" that "magically restore lost limbs" is a common plants that need only seed planted and nothing else. Even our IRL plants are pain to deal with, when planted not in their original habitat... magical plants would be especially so.

It probably dose need to grow (or it might even spawn without seeds) in the dungeon, likely because the dungeon is such a high magic area.
