So when he said charcoal to the guy, he meant what it is so the word charcoal got translated to the world's native language. But when he said the word charcoal without him meaning it intentionally, it was heard as is, as "charcoal" not the native word for it.
Interesting :pepehmm:

Oh, so they forgot to use the expression "explosive flavour", so they made another food-centred chapter just to fit that in. Got it.

Odd way for language magic to work, but it sort of makes sense.

This chapter made me go to check out how can you actually go fetch some yeast.

There are other procedures, for sure, but this seems like the one you'd use if you have absolutely no equipment or special knowledge.

Yeast can be found on absolutely anything and everything. It naturally gathers in hydrated dough that's been left forgotten over a period of time (which is what we call sourdough starter). Therefore, it's strange for an isekai to have ale but not leavened bread, since both are created using the same process of yeast fermentation.

like he said, depending on his way of saying it, it either get auto-translated or not (husbando version gets translated because he said it like it was normal, but wife got not translated and she heard Japanese instead of whatever language they use)

The language thing is something that I think about a lot when I read isekais. Like how it works and why some things translate and others don't. Not many stories actually address in any detail, which is understandable, but I feel like it would be an interesting idea for a side story or bonus chapter.

I need to know, does the translation magic work for songs? Do the lyrics get translated? Does it preserve the rhyme and meter? What about metaphors and idioms? Do they get translated literally or converted into a local equivalent? Somebody tell me I'm not the only one that thinks about this stuff!
