y'know, the fact that the guy who wrote this likes kids kinda ruins it for me. Anything that happens in this series and relationships built or ideas said by characters are gonna inevitably be reinterpreted through my renewed understanding of this being from a pedo.

If anyone wants to read a series that's not written by a pedophile who couldn't even own his crimes and publish under his own name, Ichi the Witch is great and is illustrated by Shiro Usazaki, the artist of Act-Age (whose career was wrongfully derailed for 5 years because of this pedo's scandal)

This series is going to suck to read, assuming it ever leaves its hiatus, but it has sadly been enjoyable so far.

I wouldn't call it amazing, since the therapy definitely feels written from a patient's perspective of therapy rather than a therapist themself, but it's nice to have a story that isn't focused on the front line battles, but one of the many wars that take place in the back.

Politics, physical and mental health, economics, infrastructure, and other such topics that aren't touched on for more than a few panels or pages in a common isekai/adventure story. Sure you might have leaders deliberate, and maybe an uprising, but it's usually because "ooh, magic/greed from X-person made Y-person the way they are."

If another series can do this without that author being a criminal— one that touched a minor in a country where the age of adulthood consent is already lower and questionable to most other parts of the world— then I will be happy to drop this series. Until then, I will just sadly remember that many of my favorite movies as a kid were produced by monsters, or directed by creeps.
