I hate the mesugaki trope as much as anyone else, but this was just really dark.
Not to mention dramatic for the sake of being dramatic.

Though at least it made me think about how mute people could ring emergency services/make phone calls.
There are actually TTS apps you can use to talk over the phone.
Though then again, how does that stop someone impersonating you over the phone?
As tempting as it would be to ring someone and prank call them asking them about their car's extended warranty, that might do more damage in the long run.

I've been stumbling upon a lot of manga about mute people recently for some reason

Kinda seem several videos on YT where police in USA forcefully enter homes and claim they've received a 911 call from there and the call was dropped. And they argue that by law they are required to perform a mandatory wellness check when they receive a call and no one is talking. Even if the call lasts 3 seconds of silence.

I once hung-up on an emergency services operator, who was trying to flowcchart me instead of taking my information as I efficiently gave it to him. A fire would have engulfed the goddamn'd building if I'd stayed on the phone with that motherfucking idiot. I hope that he was dismissed after the matter was reviewed.

You can also do this in the UK, you do have to text Register to 999 first to set it up though. Good job teams!
