In terms of harem protagonists he's not bad honesty (although that bar is set pretty low). He's aware of the girls' feelings and considers how his choices may affect them. He's also clearly stressed out by the prospect of hurting one girl for his own perceived selfishness. Contrast with the idiotic protag who only ever "falls" on the girls then seems to ignore obvious advances.

I’m sorta getting the feeling the author may sorta end up with Ayumi fusing with Jindou. It’d be really weird, but if pulled off correctly I think it could be good. Of course, that’s a pretty wild idea so I also wouldn’t be surprised if it went a totally different way.
