I'm glad Talt got some "love" from Author-san as well, giving her some quick fanservice - one that Lugh, despite being technically old asf, quietly appreciates - then a sudden 0 to 100 with her fox form. Such power lowkey outclassing Lugh in a 1v1 paired with her completely exposed and amplified... lust... is a fascinating development that won't stop me from saying "Holy Shit" every time.

Sure it feels broken to have the main cast be kinda OP with this high of a boost, but I'm alright with it. They're around the same level now, plus they feel closer to each other - both in combat potential and in their dynamic as the comfy... slightly s*xually frustrated threesome... original trio.

I like these developments. Though it's probably just my degenerate ass coping after finally catching up with the latest chapter (this) so yeah. Godspeed to y'all 🥀🍜🦖

You have to remember those characteristics are given by the author, and thus by a human. Arrogance, conceit and mischief might be part of how their culture sees things. For instance, you and I both know that some Kitsunes are "divine messengers" that serve Inari. But there are also those that stray from the path and become increasingly evil, like Yoko from Kemono Jihen. And in that manga, you have a broad range of Kitsunes that are loosely within the good/evil spectrum.

Certainly aware of that--especially since, unfortunately, those characteristics are very common in foxgirl depiction. As a result, you get a lot of foxgirls that have the usual sharp eyes and supercilious, antipathetic tendencies to go with it. I do think the prevalence of those characteristics are less a matter of cultural views in a general sense than it is a general shift in demeanor toward masochism among Japanese males (and the attempts at causing/maintaining that shift). If works going back years are any indication, either JP males love the idea of rejection by females--in various ways--or are intended to like it.

LOL wonder how this story will handle taking care of the hero , maybe 'sealing' her strength instead of assassinating her if the goddess isn't just manipulating things more (although even if the world ends not like it would matter to her unless she loses her power if the world ends or so versus taken over by demons)
