I was really dumbfounded on the focus change (even if several people that read the LN had already mentioned it), but this was set up as early as Chapter 5 (page 18). Considering how the author took the time to mention her attending a magic school and the prospect of the mechas, this was foreshadowed at the very least.

Conil actually briefly appeared in chapter 7, just one page where MC literally bumps into him.

There is an actual correlation between sex skills and mecha piloting skills in this series.

There was no sex inside mecha cockpits. He actually got pushed out the official military mecha academy due to his preference for ranged combat, and instead uses the Merchant Guild's mecha. The merchant guild mecha actually works better for him both in actual usage (very different model) and personal autonomy (less restrictive organization).

There is a brothel that has at least a couple girls from the mecha academy working in it, and MC and Conil do visit that one. Also, Conil introduces him to another brothel with traps. At one point I felt bad for some minor antagonists that got vaporized by MC.
