Bruh, they just made rockets way ahead of time. Thank god she probably doesn’t understand how to make nukes

also she seems much more open to killing enemies. Did her values change?
Not just simple rockets, but incendiary rockets designed to burn. On a fort with civilians.

We could take it as a flaw in character and the author probably will give her ptsd over it after the war. Still though, nothing a self learned therapy skill set won't fix.

Even if she knew how, the infrastructure to make them isn't there. Like how are they supposed to build a centrifuge, or even before that, identify uranium deposits and extract the uranium?

Holy shit they have freaking RPGs in the 16th centuries? Also max 3km range? That's even longer than modern AT missile lol
Technically they're not RPGs but incendiary rockets. Modern RPGs have HEAT warheads and the explosive compound is powerful enough to use as anti personnel

It's also hilarious the way they designed the exploding arrows. Firearms in their time were already very prone to human error because of the fuse going off at the wrong time, but in arrows? Not only would it not do anything to a boat, it would blow at any time. If it really had the explosive power to blow parts of the ship, it could also very well blow up the person shooting it.

There's a reason cannon balls were preferred during navy warfare. Trying to blow ships in water is not realistic. You need to break them

You guys gotta understand that most of the weapons Shizuko introduced are what is possible to make in or near that time frame.

The main limiting factor is precision tools. The tools to creat more advanced stuff do not exist yet; you have to build the tools that build the tools that have high precision to manufacture the weapons.

Once that is established, then they can proceed to more infrastructure build up, AND THEN proceed to industrialization and mass production.

How long until Shizuko produces primitive fat boys?
never going to happen. ever this manga seems to be focusing on an actual exploration of what would happen if someone from modern day(with the help of some textbooks) actually went into the past. she's limited by her technology and what's feasible. note that they haven't even dug out rifles or repeating guns. they physically cannot build those. same for any sort of modern repeating crossbow or so on. think of it this way- the progression of technology isn't just know how, it's also infrastructure. you create machines that build more machines, which build even more machines. and that's for something as "simple" as a rifle
let's explore the process of making a rifle from scratch
first, you need a barrel, easy right? you already have techniques to do so? so how do you make it rifled then?
it's not easy. rifing is essentially one of those things you need very good tools for. essentially you need a lathe, and a precise one at that. go look up the difficulty of making lathes without yanno... lathes. secondly, if you don't do it right, well boom your gun just exploded. and so on. I think it'll be a fair while before we even see rifles. we almost certainly will never see anything "modern" in Shizuko's lifetime if the story sticks to it's take on realism

these aren't antitank rockets, they're closer to primitive artillery rockets. I don't know about the range, but at least according to this article, the chinese were using rockets since the 10th century, so by no means is this a stretch. the only think I'd question is the range, but you'd be suprised what can be done

Range is likely a maximum theoretical range firing at an ideal angle.

So 3km at a ballistics traj isn't too far fetched

Accurate and effective? Maybe not..? Still capable of going the distance? Yeah

Not really? It isn't even the first time she perpetrated this particular war crimes: she literally started her career as military counselor designing chemical weapons and planning attacks on the civilian population...

Can't believe she willingly brought chemical warfare to her time
Her first contribution to Oda army were urticating bombs and asphyxiation gas, then they poisoned wells, spreaded diseases, salted the fields and attacked the farms wearing the enemy uniforms: she is just missing enslavement, rape and ethnical cleansing to complete the crimes against humanity bingo...

What 6 years of living in the Sengoku Era does to a girl...

Huh. If she was 16 or 17 when thrown back in time, she's actually a young woman now.

If you point most modern missiles at the same upwards angle for range they too will go that far - the problem is that with a modern AT rocket or missile you want it to actually hit a tank somewhere along the way, which limits the range to line of sight and fine control etc. Her rockets are just area saturation and mostly for scare tactics.

But the most amazing thing to me is that she made rockets enough for four days and that stockpile lasted four days.
Especially with a new untested weapon system, it's way easy to use it up too fast. (And artillery barrages have historically always outconsumed expectations.)

i guess since the Geneva convention hasn't been written yet there's nothing stopping her from committing war crimes.
