Probably Methamphetamine, Nazi German in WW2 distribute it to soldier.
If he can synthesize meth in medieval Japan without precursor chemicals or high quality modern lab equipment, then he's a better chemist than Walter White. Hell, he's more than 10 Walter White combined.

There are plenty of plants and mushrooms that are psychedelic and far more believable than making meth out of nothing.

How the absolute fuck did they make fiberglass armor
Anyway its pretty funny how this manga consistently gets explosive strength wrong
An arrow with a firecracker sized charge wont blow up a guy much less 3 or 4 at range
I laughed my ass off when their shitty little bombs blew a car sized hole into ships

...yeah i dunno, it's been that way for awhile now

the agriculture sort of made sense since Shizuko's supposed to be a farming nerd, but fiberglass armour isn't much different than being able to make the tooling to manufacture sharps carbines from having a coffee table booklet on guns and a downloaded copy of wikipedia, in pre-industrial Japan. i tuned out around then, no clue where the story's going but it'll probably be something like neo Japanese Empire with fun war crimes to tide us over

the story is just Shizuko maxxing out the tech tree, it doesn't need to be logical
I lost interest around there as well. I don't know if it's good or bad story telling that the sharps carbines have the cavalry sling mounts when apparently being meant for infantry. In one way, I'd like to think that the gunsmiths, working with just a coffee table book as a reference, just slavishly copied what they saw on the page with no thought towards what function the different parts served.
But then again, I think it's more the case of the author knowing NOTHING about guns and just including the cavalry sling mounts because ohh gun look cool.

Oh honey, everyone used crank in WW2...
People don't know this and people also think that it was given to front line doorkickers to make then badass or something. Rather, it was prioritized to give it to logistics personnel and long-haul airplane pilots, to keep them awake and driving/flying. Makes sense, truckers are still chewing uppers to this day.

Dang, i feel sad for the takeda army now where they should be able to curbstomp the tokugawa here in mikatagahara

At least even tough they really lost in the tech aspect, the officer fighting and strategy capability is still a top notch, as expected from takeda cavalry

Considering shizuko already friend with naoe who is still a child at this tims, it would be fun if she also meet with yukimura and nobuyuki who still a child too

This series is based. From the Prussian amoeba military design, to drug fuelled beserkers, the range of strategem they use is always so varied yet not at the cost of accuracy.

They are spies from Takeda (and other factions), they were captured and drugged by Ashimitsu
I don't remember the details but it's a kind of hallucination drug that used for interrogation and also destroy the minds, leave them in this zombie state, and Ashimitsu be like : "free meat shield"
Ahhh which explains Ashimitsu's comments about his experiments going well. He's hard-core.

I guess that's what he meant by "test subjects" in chapter 77. He didn't waste his time in modern Japan, huh
