I hope some realism in the death of named (ally) characters are included... war against experienced troops and none of the leaders killed or even fatally injured is kinda pushing it into forced territory.

to be fair, Shizuko had made extensive preparation (more details in novel) to make sure she would win this battle in landslide, both in tactic and equipments.
She even wanted a perfect victory with no death, but it's obviously impossible so she settled with a few hundred loss (nameless soldiers)

Oh no. Why did they send out the inexperienced Takatora as the unit's general?

The other vassals of the Oda Clan are either guarding and engaging against the Mōri on the western ends of the Oda territories or besieging the remaining Azai and Asakura castles.

This seems to be Shizuko's endeavour as the ones participating in this battle are mostly her horse guards and vassals, of which Takatora — who's green but have demonstrated talent in civil engineering even irl — is one of them. Of course she'll seek to groom him into becoming a competent and credible general at that.

@wigjump My interpretation on the "slimy" part is it's referencing Shizuko's policies, which are more flexible than the rigid Samurai code, and the "nuru" would be how she "wriggles" around her problems instead of facing them head on.

Basically he's calling them slimy bastards for refusing to fight "fair and honorably" as is tradition.

It's 温い, as in tepid/lackluster/not strict policies/thinking. MTL most probably pick up verb 塗る + い instead, which mean to paint/plaster, and with a few logic hoops, it became slimy.
Sure hope my dude gets a decent editor, 'cause this is a tad bit painful to read.

I appreciate the TL work. But man it's been rough the last 10 chapters or so.

Btw, wtf was with that guy's zombie soldiers :/ ??

I have no problem if she wanted to send him out in order to "groom" him into becoming a competent and credible general. But not as a unit's general if this is his first time in battle.

So a shoddy job done with machine translation and/or AI is legitimate now?

🤔

Even manual work is still work. Or you wanna copy&paste bunch of stuff for hours on ends for nothing ?

I'd rather have a TL at all tbh. It seems that Yado-inn picked back up, they just released Chap 73, but it'll probably take a minute to catch up to chap 84.
Its not like the current TL forced you to read it, at the start of every chapter there is a message regarding this. And lastly i dont get why AI translation tool are so frowned upon, do you never use google trad or others at times? so why should AI translation be any worse?

What better way is there to groom him in these primitive days of pike-and-shot and barely-dispersed military command — let alone to give him a good-enough credit at that? He can't be limited to guarding against small-scale skirmishes and performing support duties forever, especially not in a culture with military credit as emphasised as the Japanese.

Though damn — did he get assigned to the thick of it in attacking the dead centre of the Takeda formation?

Honestly if you give people a heads-up that it's an amateur MTL I think a lot of people temper their expectations.
As well, this is okay for MTL. It's when they dip into MTL manhua territory like what mangagreat did where I'm like "okay fuck off now." That shit was unreadable even by my standards.
