Of course the red eater is female. Also did Aldis say (err think), “coming to this world”. What’s with the random tease. I would have been fine with this just being a fantasy world story; I really don’t need the added effect of him having been isekai’d (though this would be an interesting way to do it). Actually this entire chapter feels like a tease. The part of a marking on Aldis’ forehead (also I love Nale a whole lot more for remaining so loyal and not taking a peak) and the hint of who Nale is and what she was sent to do. I am a bit happy to learn for sure she’s loyal to Aldis and her goal is to help people, but really none of those teases revealed much of anything (I was already pretty sure Nale was trustworthy anyway). I will have to give it to the author. He (or is it a she? I’ll just roll with he. Someone correct me if I’m wrong) did a great job of making me care about the background of the two main characters again (I had honestly stopped caring after so long with no hints), and getting me excited to read future chapters. It also does a good job of not dumping everything on us readers instantly (sometimes when author’s just throw all that new background info on us, it doesn’t always soak in fast enough). That said, there is now the issue of waiting too long before revealing this stuff. The author needs to reveal more information periodically now (or all at once) soon, or else he risks readers forgetting or just not caring anymore (it’s like when developers tease a game too early). On another note, I don’t know how I feel about the teasers mainly coming through internal monologues. I mean, I get hiding facts when you’re talking to someone, but not so much as when you’re thinking to yourself. Even if you do images from what you’re remembering should popup or you remember something else connected to that thought (or at least that’s how it is for me; I guess this really isn’t something you can know a lot about for anyone but yourself). Plus it just feels weird when the author let’s us see inside the minds of characters when he wants to. I know it’s done practically all the time throughout most works, but it just feels weird. It’s like having a mind reading device that only works when it’s convenient to the plot. I don’t know how I feel about Integral information being revealed through that. Just my thoughts rambling on (which if that isn’t what a comment is for; then I don’t want to live in this world anymore)...
