@Nematoda It's not a "different route," he just hasn't reincarnated yet. He even said he'd hold off on it until later, in the first chapter. This chapter matched up with how he described his first encounter with Iris in Shikkaku, that she was the only dragon who immediately surrendered to him so he let her live. It's just a prequel, at least for now.

@Darkelourd Maybe it's, maybe it isn't because the description in the main story it's that Iris was already called Iris, that she was the one who challenged him but immediately surrendered (probably after he had canceled her breath attack like in the main story), and his two companions there said that legends that she was capable of destroying entire kingdoms, but don't say anything about her helping humans in exchange of gem and gold, so this one is probably a different dragon

And on another note for everyone else, since in this prequel Matty/Gaia is an adult, I think this dragon will basically take the form of an adult Iris, but that's greedy instead of a glutton (probably)

This manga is connected to the other crest Isekai manga? I thought it was just something with a similar setting. Even the MC feels kinda different. Still, I'm interested in where this is going!

Edit: the dragon us prideful, but probably by human standards. Truly prideful dragons wouldn't even consider working with humans. This dragon might have an ego, but it aint stupid
