I think I cracked the Da Bananinci Code.
1. We get bread crumbed, then we spend a few chapters exploring the same situation from different perspectives. Extra points if a non related chapter is sandwiched in between.
2. Progress must be kept down to a minimum, since, for some reason, the longer it drags the "deeper" it is.
3. Make fast, convenient solutions to problems. Remember when Igarashi discovered "Takeda was popular in the office?" (Wasn't he since the judo incident?), the conflict resolved in the snap of a fingers. If you're going to drag this, at least add a good love rival.
4. Make jump from A to B without proper setup. In the end, the fans will fill in the blanks with their own ideas.
5. Have people groom or be groomed.
6. Add and forget side characters as needed. They are only present when convenient to the plot.
7. Add compositions that are suggestive, disguised as regular activities.
I feel like this is wasted potential, but good enough for a first work.
