Ugh, I don't regret reading this... but I do feel let down

Makoto is a girl in my heart and I'm upset the author deprived us of her girlhood </3

I came to read the comments to see if people felt the same way about the ending.
Another chapter for closer of the couple or maybe a year later to see where their at would have been great. The ending was very disappointing in my opinion. Felt really rushed. If it gave a little more push for the couple it could have ended with a great closure. I hope, I hope they can make a bonus chapter to give us more closure on the couple.

I binged the anime and the leftover manga chapters in a night. It definitely felt like the ending is missing another 3-4 chapters. A lot of loose ends. Aoi and Makoto felt really rushed. Ryuji didn't matter anymore.

It was disappointing that the author decided to explore their past instead of an epilogue (like 3 years after kinda deal) since Aoi have no role in thier past and we already knew how the events in the past played out

I actually liked the absolute lack of the usual focus on intimacy so many romance manga go for. Instead this manga could focus on all the emotional aspects, as well as the many non-romantic problems that life offers.
Plus, there isn't much time for intimacy, considering that like all but 4 chapters don't have a confirmed relationship. It'd be weird for Makoto and Ryuji to, like, kiss or something during that very brief period of time they're "going out".
The ending turning positive feels out of nowhere. Aoi's sudden lack of interest in Makoto is as weird as its vanishment just in time for the happy ending. I half expected it to end in the trio staying friends or even splitting up, each remaining unsatisfied, and tbh I'd be okay with that. Maybe it's just me, but the manga kinda held a great melancholic tone throughout. It felt very real, except for the few weird moments.
Agreed, the manga had this melancholic, somewhat "real" tone throughout most of its chapters. But I still think it would have been better for the trio to just split up, like normal friends sometimes do.
