This is not something that I expect the author would have known, but I think it would have been neat if Mori had a reaction to spicy foods. Our taste buds don’t actually process a “spicy” taste, those are actually just handled by pain receptors. So unless Mori’s just got no nerve endings in her tongue at all, spicy food should at least be distinguishable. Like I said though, this is probably not something the author would just know off hand.
