Interesting fact: In Canaanite mythology, Shahar is the god of dawn, while Shalem is the god of dusk. They really are made for each other. But Ibuki and Shao also make a nice duo since the thunder god and wind god are an iconic pair in Japanese lore.

Honestly, I was expecting a plot twist where Dante was the one who brought or awakened that monster in the ruins—the one that killed Luca.

A quick note—I realize that when translating 得意魔法, I probably should have gone with "Specialty Magic" instead of "Signature Magic," since "Signature Magic" implies something unique that no one else has. However, since I've already been using it for a while, I'll stick with it. Sorry for any confusion!

The next chapter is expected to be released in three weeks (March 15).
The previous animate vote ranking will be announced around March 22–23.

It's a bit sad that when Class D wins, it's just skipped. I want to see the others showing their magic too, especially Azu and Noel. I wonder how Dante will be saved.

Is the banner on page 27 blank? Or maybe the theme should be in the banner?

Oops, thanks for noticing that!

Well damn, I was hoping for a match where he ended up placing, due to the rules being based on who gets knocked out first/last, and not actually using Witch's Workshop well. Like he wouldn't be able to actually be offensively useful, but he'd use his protection spell as a last-ditch effort and manage to stay in the ring as other people got knocked out, learning that it's his actual signature magic.

Well at the end of the day it has the same albeit slightly different meaning depending on how people interpret it

And using signature in this case wasn't missing the core meaning the author wants to tell us imo

Especially from how i see the magic in this manga, sure everyone can use same spells but the results varies depending on the casters, be it the magic control or magic power

So calling it signature magic won't miss the mark that much since it is the character's specialty in handling said magic turning it into a signature magic that they handle

Dante with his front hair down is better imo. Though maybe there's too many male students with bang that they designed Dante like that.

Alot of things to unpack here for Dante, starting off as a big fish in a small pond and slowly over the years learning he has nothing going for him outside of being "hardworking". Many people go through the motions of life without having a clear concrete goal in mind, often or not choosing one on a whim or being pressured into it. For Dante being hardworking is more of a vice, because he has no clue what he's really working hard for.

It must be crushing, watching everyone you know move forward with their lives while you are stuck in a limbo constantly comparing yourself to others and feeling your efforts are obsolete. Not to mention when the people who previously encouraged you to continue to work hard and try your best with high hopes, then tell you may not be suited for it, its gonna come off as them pitying you over concern for your wellbeing.

Oh man, Dante is relatable ;_;

Don't know, not sure, lost, what if it's just "in it to have fun", the societal pressure, the personal pressure, etc. Also boy measures himself up to the best of them all, just... why ;_;
Some might say Dante is a late-bloomer. Some people only do well, discover their passions much later in life. But it sure is frustrating. Still, hold on tight! Better yet, I hope he shares his frustration and angst with a trusted someone (sensei, wink) to help alleviate bit by bit.

Thank you for the new chapter and your fun trivia!

Here's hoping that was just his own mind convincing him that he'll lose and it hasn't happened yet...

Dante's signature magic is obviously not Witch's Workshop. It's probably something "uncool" that he never bothered practicing on like cooking or gardening.
