Nah, it's a common term used by the students as well. In chapter 1 Dante addresses Ibuki as such.

I can't wait for the finale of this arc, not because I'm bored by it, but because characters discovering and living up to their potential is among my most loved plotlines.

The mystery continues. What will they do with Dante? His inferiority complex is clearly eating away at him. And from what I can gather, specialty magic isn't really "special" so much as it is just the magic they are most comfortable/best at?

Alright Sensei you might not know this, completely understandable, but when trying to cheer anyone up, do NOT bring other names up,  especially in comparison to the person youre trying to encourage. Like if you're comparing them to someone "better," that is not going to improve their mood. If you're comparing them to someone "worse," why are you bringing them into this! Also that only provides comfort to the petty part we all have!

I think Dante will end up saving Shao from something. If second part is some sort of battle royale or group combat test. Saving the guy he's envious of will help get over the inferiority complex while also discovering his strength of protecting others (since I think it's pretty obvious Witch's Fortress is meant to be his 'talent.') But I'm also curious if we get to see his Black Star moment. I can't remember if the plant girl ever got hers, where they go out of control and use magic massively above their level.

The thing is, all of these kids go on to become utter calamities in the future, and I think we're forgetting that because all we've seen of Dante is him being largely talentless.

I get folks are saying his magic might be a more defensive oriented magic, but I think we're going to see soon what his real specialty magic is soon, and its going to also showcase why he cannot be allowed to be on his own

That's basically what it's always been. Like remember, Miiko's already shown off her full power specialty magic back in the first chap, which is just her having super-powered shapeshifting. It's not a magic that's truly unique to each person, it just means that by virtue of them being so good at it they can do things with it that others can't (like Miiko turning into a dragon).

That's basically what it's always been. Like remember, Miiko's already shown off her full power specialty magic back in the first chap, which is just her having super-powered shapeshifting. It's not a magic that's truly unique to each person, it just means that by virtue of them being so good at it they can do things with it that others can't (like Miiko turning into a dragon).

I still maintain their special abilities aren't even necessarily tied to themselves. Remember that the Ice Kid is there independently for some reason and hiding a shitload of power. Whether the power is coming from secret bloodlines, drug experiments, or something else idk, but their insane power in the future is absolutely not their 'natural' abilities. These aren't people just going wrong normally, there is SOME sort of outside force influencing them.

Just because hes "realistic" doesnt mean hes a good or interesting character to read about.

And youre angry at people being angry at Dante because "they were like that or worse" then turn around and complain about the teacher giving bad advice as if all your advices has been on point your entire life?
