"You've had a relationship with my best friend"
That's an interesting euphemism for rape. Daft cunt.

I really can't think of a single redeeming feature about this manga, aside from the fact that it only has 49 chapters.

It's just one of those manga that focuses more on idiotic side of people.

A character that reads manga they hate just to complain on the internet for each and every chapter would fit very well in these type of manga.

@Yautja the implication is that she is still in denial, and that Hayafumi just handled himself to the police, since none of the victims have given their testimonies all they have to go around is the rapist words with no victims at hand, and Sensei only at the end deciding to talk with the investigator.

Of course It is bullshit, because the man himself already told her, she has seen the photos, and she has seen her friend beaten black and blue bleeding in the floor a motel room by her husband, and she had meet other women that have been with them, but that's how she decided to work it out, she is dependent on that trash for whatever reason to the point of writing him a love letter, she will think like that until he gets imprisoned for real, and probably even after everything is said and done, she is even more gone than the dentist girl... and that is assuming that justice will be served.

@kronix: I don't know what's more impressive. That you are very often the first commenter or that your comments are consistently retarded.

So she had sex with the rapist while he was dead drunk, and conceived off that. She's pretty lucky if her child doesn't have defects because of that.

Nah, last chapter she acknowledged what a garbage person he is; I don't buy it. She's taking after her bitch mother or it's just their author's god awful writing taking the spotlight again. Not much difference at this point really.

I was like "Wait is this the end?" then went back and checked and there is "End" in every chapter. Huh.

@Yautja well now that you say it, yeah, she did call him out on his bullshit, so it is definitively the author back at it again with her shit writing.

Hmmm... then... if i were to come with an excuse for her now, maybe it would be that back then she was desperate because she was about to lose her source of income, and thus her reprimand was coming more out of a desperation to try and secure her current and future dreamed housewife lifestyle rather than an actual heartfelt reprimand about his illegal actions.

Thus her actual critique was not about him being a serial rapist, but rather it was about him not giving her enough time and attention and instead cheating and now planning on leaving her a single mother, which is a valid critique but is by no means what everyone thought she was calling him out on, myself included, i also was convinced that finally someone was calling him out on his shit, but now it is clear that she doesn't cares about that part, and never did, the catharsis that we felt was a misunderstanding on our part, and this author is actually that bad at writing.

So my defense is that she never reprimanded him on his sexual and physical offences, she only reprimanded him on being a bad lover/partner, and that was all, just like her bitch mother taught her she was trying to held her household together and that was it, i bet that if it was up to her she would try to keep everyone from talking so that her walking rapist wallet would keep his job.

Definitely a better explanation than any other reader or the shit author could come up with. I get that it's a devil's advocate kinda thing, but I'll participate.

I still don't think any of it matters either way. Any excuse made up for these characters and their actions will read just like that, an excuse. The characters in this manga are pathetically inhuman, inconsistent and unrealistic. None of them read like real people or decent characters. Not to mention, relying on such a ridiculously complex misunderstanding and dubious logic as an excuse that goes completely against the grain of a character's personality & past actions is just another hallmark of bad writing to add to the stack and further discredit the excuse. It'd be one thing if the writing was on the wall beforehand, but it wasn't. It never is with this manga. At best it's a retcon of past events in a series where they're valueless and the story is built upon contrivance and based on a fundamental misunderstanding of human behavior and desire.

Frankly, it reads like this woman is trying to be a female version of her husband (the author of Oyasumi Punpun) and is failing hard. She's a student failing to imitate her teacher's success and writing style. The entirety of this manga is a failure of an appeal to the "depressed mature manga" aesthetic, the concept that manga like Punpun and say Sangatsu No Lion achieve.

@Yautja i totally agree it is forced, the last chapters completely reads like she is chastising him for being a horrible human being and not just because he is a bad lover, but... that's the only way i can make sense of what she is doing now, she only cares about her housewife life and is in essence a clone of her own mother despite her trying to disregard what her mother tells him at times (their kid will not turn out fine).

Interesting that you bring Inio up, i never liked any of his jobs they always felt like a 5 out of 10 to me, i felt them being pretentious and always leave me with a feelings of wasted time, if i wanted to read about the human condition i would pick a philosophy text, i never outright hated them, and i kind of enjoy Dead demons destruction because it takes itself way less seriously which is how it should have always been, anyway for this author however, while i see what you are coming from with the comparison i felt like she was trying to do something else, the prologue and the comments at the end of the second volume make it sound like there is a message in this, like there's a social service that is going to expose an unknown reality and make a change in the readers mind, and thus create better the world, if nothing by making a small change, and what we got instead was this shit show... so i can't really say that this is on the same genres, this was not written as plain melancholy bait, she got ahead of herself trying to say something about society (even thought she didn't really have anything to say), and ended making a caricature of it inhabited by nonsensical characters.

There's no sense to make is my point. It's like trying decipher a child's scribbles. There's no deeper meaning, no consistency, no message, it's just a mess. The only difference is this mess was made by an adult who though she was doing otherwise.

As for Inio, my opinion aside, his works achieved something; he's won accolades, has fantastic ratings and is at least consistent. This lady on the other hand, I feel that matches what I described quiet well; the product is indistinguishable from what I laid out. She tried to convey some grand message, a message she failed to formulate or understand, with the vehicle I described. You call it melancholy bait and I described it as "depressed mature manga" aesthetic, two terms that I find accurate and tend to accompany certain types of messages & manga, regardless of whether or not they're conveyed poorly. In Sangatsu & PunPun you get depression and what most people would call a good delivery, in this shit show you get a mutilated view of I don't know what or this wouldn't be a problem. Probably a woman's right issue considering all the rape and self victimization of women. Either way, I think it matches what I said perfectly, as well as what you said. I think you viewed them, when I spoke, as mutually exclusive when in fact I meant for them to be the exact opposite. As for that comment, it reads like a narcissistic intersectional feminist with no sense of responsibility wrote it, giving far more credit to this series than it's due.

Good. Maybe a large inmate can get all rapey on him, see what it's like on the receiving end.
