Nobody called the cops ? Sorry, how is choking a woman something he gets away with? I guess we at least know what kind of scum bag he is now instead of just having a general “ick“ feeling whenever he shows up.

On one hand, this explains why he helped cover up her mother's death. On the other hand, the introduction of another rape victim feels both plausible and contrived. It's a bit of a mixed bag—there’s some logic to it, but it also seems a bit forced.

Thanks for the chapter!

I will at least say that there are truths in the stereotypes of living around entertainment celebrities and executives. It sadly makes this quite plausible to me. We already know what the mom was doing with her before...

Wait, her mother did what??
Her mother raped him, so when she killed her mother, he took it as an opportunity to do self therapy by helping her cover up the murder and becoming her guardian instead of actually dealing with being a rape victim

And now she is dragging some random kid into her own mess

Japanese Cabaret clubs or Host Clubs are kind of grey establishments, usually with ties to Yakuza and other underworld organization which are the ones that manage and enforce security, supply the alcohol, and hire the hosts

As thus if something really serious goes down in there, it is not the cops that will come in but a "private security agency"

The clients also know this and would avoid getting involved in the middle of it all

Which is why nobody calls the cops, at worst the manager would have to ask what was happening not to check on the safety of the woman attacked, but to secure the experience and continued patronage of all the other clients, and since he stopped quickly after people started noticing him, then nothing had to be done, what matters is that they can finish the day without any incidents

And an incident is understood as any event that gets in the way to meeting the day's quota, a girl being chocked doesn't gets in the day of meeting the day's quota, so it doesn't counts as an incident, so there's no need to call anyone

On the other hand calling the cops, now that's a major incident, which would have stopped business for the whole day, and would have gotten in the way of meeting the quota for several days even
