Yeah, I don't know if I'm just reading too much into it or what but he is giving off some groomer vibes. He is a bit overly affectionate despite not having seen Asahi since his brother died (which was established as years ago) and his coddling act of treating him like he's still that same child he used to hang out with is a common tactic to infantilize targets and make them feel dependent on you.

I don't think it will go that direction and it'll probably be something more standard/a bit cliche like Kanefumi being at the bar or seeing Asahi going into the bar with Yuma and getting worried/jealous (or something else entirely, maybe he genuinely is concerned that Asahi still hasn't properly resolved his brother's death). Maybe it's just a personal bias but people who are that extroverted and open with people who from my perspective are relative strangers always makes me think there is some ulterior motive.
