This author really can't help himself but keep writing main characters who pretend to be all about "debauchery" at words, but that systematically chicken out or blow their chances by being incredibly obtuse when the girl is actually ready to drop her panties.
What's more disconcerting is that a part of the audience for some reason keep calling these hopeless wankers "Chads" because "Ohohoh, he said the mean thing to the girl".
Whatever. Even as a running joke it gets tiring after a while.
