why open group perms? I often forget to upload on md. you can read on our website.
because its on the site rules, reaching out here before reporting to save hassle for everyone.

rule 1.4 "A locked group that has chapters missing from MangaDex can be requested by a user to be unlocked and marked as inactive by contacting MangaDex staff if the locked group has had no publicly available releases for 4 months on any platform. MangaDex staff will attempt to contact the group to notify them about the inactivity request and will continue to wait another 2 months from the request before marking the group as inactive."... 1.4.1 "A group that is marked as inactive will have its upload restrictions lifted and its leader and members will no longer have edit permissions to the chapters associated with the group, to allow for the uploading of any missing chapters."
if you are inactive on a manga and not uploading here then yes it should be opened. don't see why that was difficult if there is a clear rule for it. especially when it was over a year on posting anything from that manga.

To save you the work.
One of the things you can do as group leader is set two permissions:
- Upload Permissions: This can be set to allow any MangaDex user to upload your work, and attribute it properly to your group, so you don't have to do that yourself. If you are ultimately OK with your work being on MangaDex as long as it is properly credited to you and links to your group, this is a good option and saves you the work of uploading yourself (or if you forget). In other words, a volunteer could download the chapter from your website, upload here, select Setsu Scans as the group that did the work so that it is properly attributed, and you didn't have to lift a finger. The way your group permissions are set right now, only a member of Setsu Scans is allowed to do that.
- Upload Delay: This allows you to set a delay if you want to try to drive readers to your site for the fresh releases. When your work gets uploaded, a configurable amount of time has to pass before it is viewable.

There's no upload delay afaik, also we realistically wait 1 month before uploading, anyway now that MD is getting nuked we don't take the uploading rules as seriously as we did.
