Because he is the main character and creating a story doesn't always mean it must revolves itself around main character. Without developing the side characters, they all will just became harem wallflower who only exist as a trophy for the mc like many of those isekai fantasy slops.

Being the main character literally means the story evolves around them. The rest is just random buzzwords, while ignoring that a main character needs actual personality and reasons for being the main character as well as developement themselves.
