The author did call these something akin to route A and route B (but even without confirmation which one is the canon one the B route makes 0 sense), they just like doing alternative shit so that they can farm everyone which is smart and why not

It was all damage control after the fact to save face. However people are still mad and alot of people dropped the series entirely. Author should have never done such a thing in the first place even in jest.
