... but I don't think I ever want to go to a sandy beach in broad sunlight ever again.

I never liked sandy beaches anyway. I mean I hate the ocean in general, and obviously they're far worse in direct sunlight... but at least on rocky beaches I can get distracted looking for fossils, seashells and caves. That is why I love Lyme Regis. So many ammonites about!
I do kinda miss that part of my childhood... my idiot brothers all playing in the sea and me half a kilometer away climbing on the rocks looking for interesting sealife or the remains thereof.
Those popular sandy ones though... what is even the point? There is nothing to do there but get sand all up in everything. =<

Being born and raised on a Caribbean island, beaches of all kinds were my favorite outings. I am sadly a terrific swimmer making it harder for me to enjoy the sea
